Practice now open - July 2020
We are pleased to announce that we re-opened the practice on 6th July in a phased manner to see patients face to face.
If you have any symptoms of Covid 19 (fever, muscle aches, recent persistent cough or difficulty in breathing, loss of sense of taste or smell, recent contact with anyone confirmed with Covid 19) you must not attend the practice.
In order to ensure patient and staff safety, we have to adopt new strict operating procedures. This means that the service we can provide will be significantly different from the one that you have become accustomed to in the past.
We have put the following protocols in place to ensure complete safety of patients and staff in the light of the Covid 19 outbreak.
Here is what you can expect when you visit us:
We must reduce footfall in the practice to maintain social distancing. We urge you not to attend the practice without an appointment. Contact us first and we shall arrange a time for you. The number of available appointments will be fewer than before to minimise possible unnecessary contact within the practice.
We shall phone you 2-3 days before the appointment to complete our usual consent process remotely, updating your medical history and screening for Covid 19. If you have any signs of possible Covid 19, we shall reschedule your appointment.
When you attend, you must come on your own if possible. Only one patient will be permitted in the practice at any one time. If you need to bring a companion, they will be asked to wait outside. (For family appointments or patients who require a carer – we shall discuss this with you during our pre-appointment telephone conversation).
Please keep coats and bags down to an absolute minimum.
Please ensure that you go to the toilet before arriving at the practice as our facilities will not be in use.
Please clean you teeth thoroughly before you attend for your appointment.
Please wear some form of face mask or covering.
Please try and arrive as close to your appointment time as possible.
We shall only be accepting credit/debit cards as method of payment (no cash or cheques). Please ensure you have a payment card with you when you attend.
When you arrive, call the reception on 01384 274970 to let us know you are here and you will be met at the door for further screening and temperature checking. If you have any signs of possible Covid 19, we shall reschedule your appointment.
